Cleaning Technician

Summary

Seeking 2-3 individuals looking for summer employment at a busy Inn in Wrightsville Beach. The ideal candidate will be punctual, hard working, great at time management, and able to perform job duties with little to no supervision.

Job Description

Following a guest's departure the employee would be expected to;

• Strip the bed of dirty linens and remove dirty towels from the unit
• Neatly remake the bed with clean sheets arranging pillows in a neat and tidy manner
• Clean and sanitize the bathroom including tubs, toilets, sink, and mirror; as well as restock the bathroom with correct number of towels and other offered amenities
• Clean and sanitize the kitchen including the countertops, stove top, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator and sink
• Removing any trash from the unit and sanitizing any remaining surfaces including high touch areas such as the remote control and light switches
• Vacuum and mop the entire unit ensuring no sand or other debris are present and that the unit is completely reset for the next guest

Requirements

Applicants MUST have reliable transportation to and from Wrightsville Beach and MUST have weekend availability. Due to the physical demands of this position the applicant MUST be able to; climb up and down stairs, squat, kneel, ok on their feet for long periods of time, tolerant to the hot summer temperatures, and able to lift up to 30 lbs. They will be good at following directions and receiving constructive feedback. No prior cleaning experience is required as long as the applicant is able to learn processes quickly and properly implement what he/she has learned. Additionally, they must have a general understanding of working with cleaning chemicals in a safe and effective manner.

Applicant must be able to provide proper identification and prove that they are legally allowed to work in the U.S. Lastly, due to workman comp and insurance requirements, the applicant cannot have been convicted of any felonies in the last 5 years.

Schedule

During the peak summer months (Mid May- Mid Sept) the applicant can expect to work anywhere from 4-6 days a week and could work as many as 35 hours a week. Saturday and Sunday availability are a requirement and you MUST be willing to work on July 4th, Memorial Day and Labor Day if needed. Occasional weekends may be given off with ample prior notice.

Compensation

This is a 1099 position meaning the applicant will be responsible for paying his/her own income taxes at the end of the year. Pay is distributed weekly and based hourly starting at $17/hr plus any tips left by departing guests with room for pay raises up to $22/hr when necessary. Bonuses based on performance and worker's productivity will be distributed at the end of the summer.
