Job Position : Shipping & Receiving clerk
Location : Hardeeville, SC 29927
Pay Rate : $17.00 / hr
Shift : 5am - 2pm Mon - Fri may be asked to work Weekends from time to time.
The Receiving Clerk - Warehouse is responsible for managing all incoming shipments, verifying inventory accuracy, and documenting items received. This role involves close coordination with other departments to ensure accurate inventory tracking and efficient warehouse operations. The Receiving Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining inventory integrity and supporting overall warehouse productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of Incoming Shipments
Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, and inspect items for damage or discrepancies.
Unload shipments and organize products in designated receiving areas for further processing.Communicate with vendors or carriers to resolve any issues with received shipments as needed.Inventory Verification and DocumentationEnsure all received items match inventory records, recording details accurately in the warehouse management system (WMS).
Complete and maintain receiving logs, tracking items received, quantity, and any notes on quality or condition.Prepare and label items for inventory, assisting in the process of storing goods in appropriate locations.Cross-Department CoordinationCollaborate with inventory control and other departments to confirm receipt of expected goods and address any discrepancies.
Provide timely updates to purchasing and inventory teams to facilitate accurate stock records and fulfillment.Coordinate with the quality assurance team to inspect goods for compliance with quality standards.Inventory Organization and StoragePrepare items for storage or immediate transfer to designated areas based on warehouse layout and inventory protocols.
Maintain an organized receiving area, ensuring items are safely and neatly arranged to optimize space and workflow.Assist with inventory adjustments and updates in coordination with inventory control teams.Safety and ComplianceAdhere to all company safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices.
Operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified), to safely move and store received goods.Report any safety hazards or receiving issues promptly to the supervisor.Qualifications
Experience : Prior experience in a warehouse or receiving role is preferred, with familiarity in handling shipments and inventory.Education : High school diploma or equivalent required.Skills :Strong organizational skills to handle multiple shipments and manage inventory records.
Attention to detail to verify accuracy in received goods and documentation.Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.Effective communication skills for coordination with various departments and vendors.Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including standing, walking, and lifting items up to 50 pounds.Comfortable operating warehouse equipment and working in various temperature conditions within the warehouse.
