The Project :
The Marketing team seeks a summer intern to strengthen our storytelling initiatives across Maine through compelling client success stories. Our focus is connecting with small business owners and sharing their journeys through engaging short-form video content. We are looking for an intern who will help us create 10 - 20 new video interviews with clients to showcase their success.
The Experience :
You will work with our Communications Outreach Specialist and will be responsible for scheduling, researching, and preparing interviews. You will also work on filming and editing 10 - 20 new client interviews specialized for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Success metrics will include video engagement analytics, reach statistics, Instagram and TikTok activities and engagement with followers.
This is an opportunity for you to apply marketing and storytelling principles in a real business environment through direct client interaction and content creation.

Who we are seeking :
You have knowledge, interest, and experience with storytelling.
You have strong interpersonal and communication skills and possess cultural competency that allows you to sensibly and comfortably work with diverse communities.
You have interest in economic development and community impact.
You have experience with video editing software or experience editing video on social media apps.
You are strongly familiar with social media platforms, particularly Instagram and TikTok.
You have a valid driver's license and ability to travel within Maine.
Other details :
This is a temporary, summer position with great opportunities to apply your classroom knowledge, learning, and professional growth. This internship is for actively enrolled students pursuing an associate degree or a bachelor's degree. The pay rate is $20 per hour with a starting internship date of Monday, June 2, 2025, and ending on Friday, August 8, 2025. We work on a hybrid model, two days in office (Tuesday & Wednesday) and three days at home (Monday, Thursday, Friday). This position is based in our Brunswick, ME office but does require occasional travel to clients and businesses located in different parts of Maine. All CEI-related travel is paid.
The CEI internship experience is designed to meet four core learning outcomes :
- Acquire new knowledge in a setting that is related to the concepts, principles, and methodologies applied in the classroom, thus allowing the student to connect theory with practice.
- Enhance and develop written and verbal communication skills.
- Provide the opportunity to collaborate with diverse people and in a formal business setting.
- Develop career awareness, self-direction, and self-confidence.
