POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is under the direct supervision of the Early Childhood Services Coordinator and is responsible for planning and implementing a program designed to benefit each child’s individual needs for physical, social, emotional, creative and intellectual development. Will supervise overall operation of the center site.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organize and participate in daily planning activities with Teachers so as to provide the best early childhood services to children.
Assist specialists in completion of required services for enrolled children and families
Monitor classroom activities effectiveness
Provide overall effective supervision of classrooms and Center
Maintain and submit reports relating to attendance, meal counts, outcomes data in compliance with performance Standards
Directly supervise, monitor and evaluate staff performance and make necessary recommendations
Conduct weekly staff meetings
Determine supply and equipment needs for the program and maintain property inventory
Comply with state licensing rules and requirements
Identify staff training needs also request trainings as needed
Maintain accurate and confidential files and records of children and staff
Identify client concerns and meet to discuss and remedy
Ability to develop, coordinate and implement activities for the Center and also familiarize parents with program policies and routines
Approve weekly planning forms
Review all classroom screening data and on-going assessment data prior to submission to Early
Childhood Coordinator
Assures that all center level documentation and reports are completed up-to date and accurate
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in community activities
Maintain knowledge of all community resources available to low income clients
Immediately report hazardous center conditions and or injuries
SUPERVISORY LEVEL
Provide direct supervision to center staff
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS OR JOB REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Development or a related degree with one (1) year experience in a
Early Childhood program.
Must have knowledge of computerized tracking systems
A satisfactory Criminal Background check and drug screen is required
Must adhere to confidentiality standards
A valid Georgia Driver’s License
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift 30 to 50 pounds and carry 20 to 30 pounds.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to communicate written and orally using generally accepted grammar and positive interpersonal communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Primarily and office position that also requires frequent monitoring and classroom interaction.
