What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stacker Operator position at Coastal Group, Inc.?
Description of Position:
· The Stacker Operator is responsible for moving material through the stacker (incising where applicable), sticking and de-sticking while always maintaining environmental and safety compliance. Watch Stacker Crew before actuating machine parts to ensure they are in a safe position.
· Lay sticks down between layers of bundles going to the kiln. Collect sticks into a box from bundles getting de-sticked. Wrap and band finished bundles per packaging instructions. Ensure all environmental and safety procedures are followed and report all unsafe or non-compliant. Check stamp is correct for material and legible and alert Stacker Operator of errors. Safely operate small tools such as electric and manual banders. Pull back the layers of wood as they come across the hoist to keep layers tight and in line.
· Work with a safety mindset always. Move material across stacker in a safe and productive manner without sacrificing quality. Laying sticks, collecting sticks in the stick box, banding bundles, and pulling back layers of lumber.
· Ability to demonstrate behaviors conforming to Company’s set of values and accepted standards. Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
Position Requirements: Indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Can be hot, cold, humid, and/or rainy. Will get dirty. Steel Toe Boots Required. All other Safety equipment will be provided onsite.
Position Schedule (Days/Times etc):
1ST SHIFT: 6:00 am - 4:30 pm. Monday-Thursday, Friday as business demands. Occasional Saturdays.
2ND SHIFT: 4:30 pm - 3:00 am. Monday-Thursday, Friday as business demands. Occasional Saturdays.
Job Type: Full-time
