Private Piano Music Instructor

General Function: The primary responsibilities of the person occupying this position will be providing quality music lessons (piano, guitar, ukulele, and/or voice) to students of Coastal Harmony.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide private piano lessons to a variety of students.
• Teaching general styles of music.
• Teaching proper piano technique, theory, and performance skills.
• Incorporating musical instruments, games, and movement into lessons, when applicable.
• Planning and implementing a program of instruction and lesson plans.
• Preparing students planned music experiences, such as recitals or school events.
• Building relationships and mentoring students.
• Scheduling make-up lessons with students, when applicable.
• Communicate with student’s parents regarding progress and challenges faced within their student’s music lesson, as well as inform them of studio information (closure, recitals, etc.).
• Attend staff meetings when scheduled.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience
- Previous experience teaching piano lessons is required.
- Strong knowledge of music theory and piano technique.
- Ability to effectively communicate and engage with students of all ages.

Please note that this position does not involve teaching other subjects such as dance or culinary arts. The focus is solely on piano, guitar, ukulele, and/or voice instruction.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 10 per week
