Experience: Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant or documented evidence of completed Medical Assistant externship. Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection current experience.
Other Requirements: Current documentation of medical assistant certification. Must possess a current CPR certification and current health records with the appropriate immunizations to work in the health care field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis).

- Interview patients to verify information, review medical histories, and take vital signs
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures
- Prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic tests on-site
- Dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize instruments
- Administer medications and authorize prescription refills as directed
- Phone in prescriptions, draw blood, and prepare patients for x-rays
- Conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs), remove sutures, and change dressings
- Educate patients on medication usage and dietary guidelines

- High school diploma or GED required
- Diploma from an accredited medical assisting program or relevant community college course
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred but not required
- Current CPR certification
- Up-to-date health records and immunizations (including Hepatitis B and TB)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a clinical setting as a medical assistant
- Experience using Athena EMR preferred
- Proficiency in taking vital signs, performing EKGs, venipuncture, capillary draws, and intramuscular injections
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced primary care environment
- Comfortable with both front and back-office responsibilities
