Coastal Health is looking for a Surgery Scheduler to join our growing team. This person will handle patient procedures and surgery scheduling. Must have advanced knowledge of insurance verification and other related activities. May also be involved in scheduling patient appointments and referring patients to appropriate physicians or specialists based on the patient’s needs.
- Handle referrals, procedure scheduling, and call center representatives.
Greets, directs, and assists patients and visitors upon arrival to the service area or through telecommunication devices.
Serves as a coordinator, expert and liaison for patients and practice for procedure coordination, scheduling, and other office functions.
Responsible for maintaining patient flow by scheduling procedures, surgeries, and appointments.
Responsible for accurate data collection, documentation, and data retrieval with computerized and paper systems.
Ability to perform registration processes, insurance verification, co-payments, authorizations, and referral inquiry functions.
Assists in maintaining medical records and filing systems.
Assist with clerical and secretarial support. Interfaces with multiple departments.
