Coastal Health is currently searching for a motivated Sterile Processing Tech to join our growing team.

Prepares instruments and supplies to perform surgical procedures. Assists the surgeon during the operative procedures. Maintains safe and appropriate utilization of supplies and equipment. Assists with inventory management for surgery and anesthesia supplies. Performs central processing functions
Responsibilities:
Supports the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the organization.
Contributes to the progress and development of the Quality and Risk Management Program.
Interacts and communicates effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
Supports and maintains individual and team professional competence.
Adheres to Patient Care and Treatment Policies/Procedures.
Performs operating room scrub assistant functions following principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating room procedures.
Adheres to accepted sterilization/processing policies and procedures.
Works with other team members to maintain surgical and anesthesia inventory levels and accurate records.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a surgical tech two-year program. Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
Experience in a multi-specialty surgical environment is preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of sterilization principles required
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Requires high-level visual and auditory acuity for timely response and patient care assessment activities. Frequent overhead and low reaching and bending. Ability to move quickly in response to physician and patient needs, to stand for long periods, and to exert a force of up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently and/or up-to 10 lbs. constantly. All patient care activities may require the ability to exert a force of up to 30 lbs. constantly, up to40 lbs. occasionally and up to 100 lbs. rarely. Ability to assist with the transport of patients, and supplies in and out of the surgical area as needed. Ability to perform Cardio-Pulmonary-Resuscitation if indicated.
OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE: Category I exposure to blood-borne pathogens, exposure to chemical and/or radiation hazards.
EXPERIENCE: 1 year (Preferred Minimum)
EDUCATION & LICENSE:
Graduation from a surgical tech two-year program. Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist. (CST)
Experience in a scrub role in a multi-specialty surgical environment is preferred.
