JOB TITLE : ASSISTANT PROGRAM DIRECTOR - HARRTS
SUPERVISED BY : Adult Residential and Community Treatment Services Program Director
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL / EXPERIENTAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from a Master’s degree program in human services and four (4) years of progressive experience in behavioral health assessment and treatment.
- Full licensure as a Psychological Associate, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, or Clinical Social Worker. Dual licensure as Clinical Addictions Specialist preferred.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Supports the Program Director for effective administration, work efficiency, program performance and provides a full range of substance abuse and clinical work services for clients with complicated substance use and co-occurring disorders. Provides independent diagnostic, psycho-social and professional counseling for adults with complicated substance use, behavioral health and co-occurring disorders- with an appropriate level of supervision.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASSIFICATION
Coordinates and directs the daily function of HARRTS prescreens, admissions and assessments to include review of intake paperwork, schedule coordination, comprehensive clinical assessment, person-centered treatment planning, and direct care of HARRTS clients.Provides clinical leadership and direction under support of Program Director to ensure productivity of staff through managing schedules, providing training, and managing outcomes.Coordinates with billing and medical records department to ensure timely and complete documentation from clinical staff.Supervises graduate interns through orienting to the organization, assisting interns in developing and achieving learning objectives, offering feedback on a regular basis, completing paperwork and on-boarding processes, and ensuring ethical and competent practice.Provides clinical and administrative supervision to a range of licensed clinical staff including LPA, LCMHC, LCSW, LCAS, CDAC and provisionally licensed staff including, but not limited to providing feedback on a regular basis, assisting in clinical decision making, offering training, and ensuring ethical and competent practice.Provides clinical leadership and direction through weekly meetings with staff and house managers to address guidelines and clinical care of HARRTS clients.Partners with Program Director, medical staff, other behavioral health professionals and house managers to maintain an effective treatment team.Provides a full range of behavioral health services – including independent diagnostic and psychosocial evaluation; individual, group and family counseling; treatment and person-centered planning; crisis intervention; case management to arrange, link, or integrate multiple services for HARRTS clients as well as assessment and reassessment of the client’s need for services; client education; and record keeping.Establishes and maintains community relationships with community partnerships, agencies, and referral sources including ADATC, NHRMC, UNC, and additional community resources.Will provide individual therapy to complex caseload and may include a range of substance use and / or mental health disorder patients to include complex medical individualized depending on the needs of the clients.Subject to inside environmental conditions and exposed to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gasses or poor ventilation and subject to work in close quarters. 50% Program Coordination : Coordinates and directs program functions- to include coordination of service delivery procedures, to ensure compliance with policy, and to assist Program Director with direction of clinical aspects of the program. Maintains contacts with community groups, institutions, and agencies; coordinates service efforts between community agencies and CHC for HARRTS clients.
25% Direct Services : Provides independent diagnostic, psychosocial, and psychological evaluation. Conducts in-depth clinical interviews to assess substance abuse / mental health diagnosis, social history, and mental status; Independently conducts individual, group, and family counseling and education using a variety of approaches. Provides mental health counseling as needed.
10% Staff Development : Actively participates in assigned activities such as supervision meetings, trainings, etc. Assists the Program Director in meetings and trainings as assigned. Provide leadership and oversees performance of employees to maintain program performance and workflow efficiency.
10% Record Keeping : Maintains program and client records, letters, monthly treatment reports, program outcomes, etc. Completing paperwork in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner in accordance with agency standards. Monitors documentation and record keeping to maintain program standards.
5% Other : Tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor and consistent with employee skills and knowledge.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :
Considerable knowledge of the practical application of different therapeutic approaches, group dynamics, crisis intervention, and family therapy including various methods of psychological evaluation and clinical interviews.Considerable knowledge of community resources.Knowledge of the psycho-social, socioeconomic and behavioral problems and their treatment.Knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes and psycho-pharmacy.Skill in establishing rapport with a client and / or family and applying techniques of assessing psycho-social, behavioral, and psychological aspects of the client.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and members of civic, medical, social, and religious organizations.Ability to formulate treatment goals and to record concisely required documentation.Ability to communicate effective in oral and written forms.Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping, reaching, and walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions.Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force constantly or frequently to move objects.Must possess the visual acuity to perform extensive reading.SALARY & BENEFITS : Commensurate with experience, medical / dental insurance, life insurance, LTD disability insurance, retirement savings plan / 401K, paid time off programs.
