Our team provides the most compassionate care to our patients in need of oral healthcare. No days are ever the same for our patient representatives who are often the first to greet our patients either on the phone or in person. NO experience is necessary as we will train on the job but if you have experience your wage will reflect that.

High School Diploma or GED.
Greet and check patients in/out for consults, surgeries and follow up appointments.
Scheduling patients for consults, surgeries and follow up appointments.
Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Collect patient demographic and insurance information; enter into data base.
Contact insurance companies to verify coverage and obtain benefit information.
Prepare estimates for patients scheduling for surgeries and procedures.
Conducts self in accordance with employee manual.
Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/ regulations.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, etc.
First point of contact, in person and over the phone, for new or returning patients needing to schedule consults, surgeries and follow up appointments. Responsible for providing excellent customer service to enhance the patient experience.

Duties

- Manage medical scheduling, coordinating appointments efficiently to optimize patient flow.
- Perform insurance verification to confirm coverage and eligibility prior to patient visits.
- Maintain accurate patient records and files in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize our office management system for data entry and management of patient information.
- Assist with medical administrative support tasks, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and directing calls as necessary.
- Familiarize yourself with ICD-10 coding to assist in the documentation process when required.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication regarding patient needs and appointments.
Skills
- Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical administrative support functions, including scheduling and insurance verification.
- Experience in using healthcare management systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding is an asset but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients and staff alike.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
