Who we are:
Coastal Mechanics is an Aerospace and Defense contractor engaged in several activity areas, including being a manufacturer of high-precision Aviation and Military custom components, and provider of aerospace and defense logistics management services such as MRO services and repair management. We are currently seeking a highly organized Program Manager who is willing and ready to be a hard-working team player in a rapidly growing company.
The person we are looking for:
A candidate with Senior Estimator or contracts manager experience in the Aviation/Military manufacturing industry. A candidate with direct extensive experience in bidding within the USG procurement systems such as DLA, SAM.Gov, other government programs, will also be considered a huge plus, for this role that will better equip the candidate to be successful on day one. To be successful in this role, the candidate must be independent, confident in reading technical manufacturing documents, highly organized and excellent with time management.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze required documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
- Prepare material, labor, outside process estimates and cost estimates for the product
- Send and manage bids from vendors and contractors
- Use USG past performance bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis
- Submit prepared estimates to management for review
- Submit bids to client and track awards after contract awarded
- Track bids submitted and perform review/analysis on results and bids not awarded to the company
- Conduct some level of program management including overseeing the general performance of the company on said program (on-time delivery, customer interface, customer satisfaction, troubleshooting and working through issues, etc.)
- Be able to work with vendors in the industry, and develop relationships with other manufacturing companies for specific needs, if and when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to ready and interpret manufacturing drawings and other technical data
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years Senior Estimator experience of a custom components manufacturing facility required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
