Coastal Mechanical, a Rogers Building Solutions business unit, is one of the largest mechanical contractors in the Southeast and is currently seeking sheet metal mechanics to work on large commercial projects in the Tampa area. Work is primarily in the healthcare, educational, industrial and Government sectors. This role requires a minimum of 4-5 years of commercial sheet metal experience, strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various environments, often under tight deadlines. Employer conducts background checks, motor vehicle checks and drug screening.This is a safety sensitive position.

- Measuring and Cutting: Precisely measure and cut sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, or machines like shears and saws.
- Assembling Components: Join sections of metal using welding, riveting, or soldering techniques.
- Ductwork Installation: Install HVAC systems, including ductwork, vents, and hoods, ensuring proper air distribution and compliance with building codes.
- Repair Work: Fix or replace damaged parts, ensuring structural and functional integrity.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute precise work.
- Adherence to Codes: Ensure all work complies with local and national building codes and standards.
- Safety Practices: Follow OSHA and workplace safety protocols when handling tools and materials.
- Teamwork: Work with engineers, architects, and other tradespeople to complete projects.
- Communication: Coordinate with project managers and supervisors to ensure project timelines and specifications are met.
- Operating forklifts, lifts, and other equipment to position materials.
- Maintaining tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good working order.
- Climbing up and down ladders
- Push, pull and frequently carry objects as tools, materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. – Stand and walk for long periods of time.
- See and hear well with or without correction to avoid safety hazards to themselves and others.
- Overtime and weekend availability, regular attendance
- Work in heat and various other weather conditions
- Travel to current job sites within Florida
