Mobile Healthcare Paramedics are delivering effective and efficient care to patients wherever, whenever they need it. Providers will be challenged both clinically and cognitively while operating with an expanded scope of practice. Providers are expected to work both individually and as part of a care coordination team to ensure patients receive the best possible care while reducing the need for hospital admission and readmission.
Purpose:
Under the direction of the Estella Health leadership team, the public health division, physician medical director, and supervisory staff, paramedics will provide safe and effective mobile-based medical care with an expanded scope of practice above paramedic level. Providers will deliver care in a variety of settings and are expected to maintain professionalism and dignity with each interaction.
Essential Duties

Provide safe and effective mobile health-based medical care with expanded scope above the paramedic level based on clinical policies, statewide treatment protocols and standards of care

Attend to all patients in a professional, courteous manner.

Operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.

Complete patient care documentation in a timely and comprehensive fashion and obtain information to facilitate reimbursement for all patients treated, when appropriate.

Adhere to and value CMTS policies and procedures.

Maintain clinical proficiency and knowledge base.

Retrieve, stock, and clean medical equipment.

Clean, organize, and restock vehicles following each shift, as necessary.

Reports to assigned shifts punctually in a complete, clean uniform.

Protect the privacy of all protected health information in accordance with CMTS policies, procedures, and practices as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with the general principles of professionalism as a healthcare provider.

Accepts responsibility for maintaining certification / recertification as a paramedic in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; completes appropriate continuing education courses in a timely fashion; remains current in certifications of Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
-
High school diploma, GED, or other equivalent.

Currently certified and in good standing as a paramedic by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Public Health (DPH), Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS).

Current Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certification (American Heart Association)

Current Advanced Life Support certification (American Heart Association)

Current motor vehicle operator’s license

Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions using the English language.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands of the position require physical strength and dexterity along with the ability to function in adverse environments with potential exposure to numerous health and safety risks inherent in mobile healthcare and the healthcare environment. It is expected that after performance of any or all the physical requirements described below would not hinder the clinician’s ability to perform patient care.
