A leading pediatric dental practice is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. If you are passionate about providing exceptional dental care to children and have the skills to create a positive and comfortable environment, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the pediatric dentist during dental procedures
- Ensure a friendly and reassuring atmosphere for children in the dental office
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Maintain infection control protocols and adhere to sterilization procedures
- Communicate effectively with both pediatric patients and parents/ guardians of the patients. Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Perform dental receptionist duties, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Requirements:
- Aseptic technique: Knowledge and ability to maintain a sterile environment during dental procedures
- Dental receptionist skills: Experience in scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling administrative tasks in a dental office setting
- Pediatrics: Familiarity with dental procedures for children and the ability to provide age-appropriate care
- Medical records: Proficiency in maintaining accurate and organized medical records, including documenting patient information, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Anatomy knowledge: Understanding of oral anatomy and dental terminology to effectively assist the dentist during procedures
- Dental assisting: Experience in providing chairside assistance to dentists, including passing instruments, suctioning, and providing patient comfort
- HIPAA compliance: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality in all aspects of job duties
