Distribution Warehouse Associate

Job Summary:
Associate must be punctual and must meet or exceed Coastal Pet Products’ minimum production standards. Associates are required to unload shipments either with equipment or by hand. Associates are also required to separate and palletize items. Associates are required to move needed items to manufacturing and distribution by hand or with equipment.
Major Responsibilities:
Safety: Follow all safety policies and procedures as they are described in the employee handbook and periodic updates that are printed as necessary. Report any safety hazards or violations when seen. Operate warehouse equipment in a safe, controlled manner.
Quality: Operate within Coastal’s quality guidelines. Check all work. Maintain a high standard of workmanship.
Systems: Follow all systems consistently and correctly. Know how to properly operate any machines you are assigned to. Maintain workflow.
Communications: Responsible for communicating all necessary information to Line Leader or Supervisor.
Leadership: Set a good example for the people working around you.
Training: Accept cross-training whenever available in order to maximize your skills and efficiencies. Be willing to rotate jobs as needed to maintain productivity levels and reduce potential fatigue.
Productivity: Must strive to meet or exceed Coastal’s minimum productivity standards.

Qualifications:
Requires overall knowledge of equipment, systems, procedures and processes involved in the area of job responsibility to maintain maximum efficiency in the area. Must have knowledge of Tow Motor operation and using technology for pick and put-away.
Ability to read and interpret all necessary paperwork to accomplish maximum efficiencies and have basic math skills.
Good verbal skills, able to interact well with subordinates, peers, and superiors in a combined effort to maximize daily goals.
Must be able to walk and/or stand up to ten (10) hours a day and lift up to fifty (50) pounds regularly during a shift while unloading containers and moving case packs, skids, and oversized boxes.
This is a non-exempt position. General requirements of this position include, but are not limited to, regular attendance and the willingness and ability to work more than the regularly scheduled 40 hour work week when requested by management.
Academic Competencies:
Must have basic math skills and ability to read and interpret all necessary paperwork to accomplish maximum efficiencies.
Workplace Competencies:
Good verbal skills and ability to interact well with peers and superiors in a combined effort to maximize daily goals. Knowledge of equipment, systems, procedures and processes involved in the area of job responsibility to maintain maximum efficiency in the area; must have knowledge of tow motor and RF unit.
