About the Coastal Plain League
The Coastal Plain League (CPL) is a premier summer collegiate baseball league featuring top college players from across the country. As a key part of our media team, the Content Generation Intern will help enhance our brand and fan engagement through compelling content creation.
About The Intern Program
This position will collaborate closely with the league’s Videography and Media Content Lead, focusing on graphic design and content creation for the league’s social media platforms and marketing materials. Responsibilities include designing graphics for Line of the Night (highlighting top hitting and pitching performances), Players of the Week, All-Star Event promotions, Playoffs, MLB debuts, and other league-related content.
While this position is primarily in-person, remote work may be considered based on the applicant’s preference. However, candidates must be fully committed for the entire summer, including holidays that fall within this period.
The 2024 CPL season runs from May 28th - August 12th, with onboarding and training taking place 1-2 weeks prior. The selected candidate will be required to work nights and weekends, covering all league and exhibition games throughout the season, as well as the All-Star event in July and the Playoffs in August. - Design graphics for Line of the Night (best hitting and pitching performance each night), Players of the Week, All-Star Event graphics, Playoffs, MLB debuts, and other league-related content.
- Create engaging content for CPL social media channels (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).
- Assist in the production of marketing materials, website content, and email campaigns.
- Edit and format graphics, videos, and written content to align with CPL branding.
- Monitor social media trends and contribute ideas for innovative fan engagement.
- Research and write compelling blog posts, player spotlights, and feature stories.
- Collaborate with the media and marketing team to develop content strategies and posting schedules.
- Think creatively while maintaining a professional understanding of what is appropriate and safe to post.
- Monitor team social media accounts and promptly notify league office staff of any potential issues or concerns.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in computer use with strong writing and communication skills.
- Skilled in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and other graphic design software.
- Experienced with major social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
- Familiarity with baseball terminology, statistics, and game flow.
- Creative mindset with the ability to follow directions and collaborate effectively with staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced sports environment and meet deadlines.
- Passion for baseball and sports content creation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Sports Media, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or other graphic design tools.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Experience with video editing software (Premiere Pro, CapCut, etc.) is a plus.
