Generator Field Service Technician
Essential Job Functions:
- Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair work on generator system components at the customer site with minimal direction.
- Engages with customer in a courteous and professional manner.
- Applies the use of specialized tools and follows procedures to diagnose and complete basic repairs.
- Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
- Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets and time sheets by handwritten forms or business system input programs.
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
- Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies and procedures
Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
- Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance capability
Capable of electrical troubleshooting and repair with minimal supervision - practical exposure to working on Power Generation products is preferred
- Excellent reading and writing skills
- Able to clearly communicate both orally and in writing
- Able to understand written instructions
- Ability to operate laptop computer and utilize email, spreadsheet, and word processor programs
- Ability to lift and carry 50 to 75 pounds
- Ability to work safely and identify safety risks
- Ability to work in non-climate controlled work environment.
Requirements / Certificates / Licenses:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 21 years or older to operate company vehicle
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- Minimal level of workshop related experience required
- Self-motivated
- Respond to emergency callouts as needed, nights and weekends
- Availability for on-call when scheduled
