Job Description: Diesel Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic Helper
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic Helper to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic Helper, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in handling tools, have knowledge of air brakes, and be willing to travel as required. This role requires a positive attitude, a strong willingness to learn, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
· Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) services on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
· Assist in tire changes, ensuring they are properly mounted, balanced, and inflated for safe operation.
· Utilize diesel mechanic background to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other components.
· Demonstrate knowledge in air brake systems, conducting inspections, and making necessary adjustments to maintain compliance and safety standards.
· Knowledge and experience with hydraulics are a plus, as you may be required to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems.
· Perform transmission services, including fluid changes and adjustments, to ensure proper functioning and extend the lifespan of transmissions.
· Be prepared to travel to different locations as needed for on-site repairs or maintenance work.
· Work a flexible schedule from 7 AM to 5 PM daily, although hours may vary depending on the workload and specific job requirements.
· Adapt to working in diverse climates, including both hot and cold conditions, while maintaining productivity and safety.
· Exhibit a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow within the company.
· Collaborate effectively with other team members, being a reliable team player in achieving departmental goals.
· Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to take on individual tasks with minimal supervision.
