What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Receptionist position at Coastal Psychiatric Urgent Care?
We are growing and seeking an experienced full-time Medical Assistant/Receptionist at Coastal Psychiatric Urgent Care to work the evening shift from 10:30am to 7:00pm Monday through Friday. Coastal Psychiatric Urgent Care offers walk-in psychiatric and brief therapy services for those in need and is the first of its kind in Florida. Our clients seek immediate mental health treatment because they do not have a local mental health provider or are unable to get an appointment with their established provider in a timely manner, particularly in the midst of a non-emergency crisis. Clients present with a broad range of symptoms as well as dual diagnoses (i.e., mental illness and substance use).
The Medical Assistant/Receptionist will greet all clients upon arrival and ensure the proper paperwork, copayments, and preauthorizations are gathered upon registration. S/he will assist customers with checking out and returning phone calls. S/he will also act as liaison between clients and their medication providers to gather answers to questions and address pharmacy and paperwork issues. S/he will have excellent organizational and customer service skills and will be able to work efficiently in a team environment. There will be room for growth into more responsibility, particularly managerial tasks.
Pay is competitive. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision and paid time off.
Three (3) years experience in a medical assistant position is required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
