Position: Grants Coordinator
Status: Regular, Part Time, Non-Exempt
Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events.
Reports to: Director of Grants and Impact

Coastal Roots Farm is a nonprofit community farm and education center guided by Jewish values. The Farm’s mission is to cultivate healthy, connected communities by integrating sustainable agriculture, food justice, and ancient Jewish wisdom.
The Farm’s impact initiatives include 1) regenerative agriculture, 2) equitable food access, 3) environmental education, and 4) Jewish life. We grow organic food in a climate-smart way, donate the majority of our harvests to those who need it most, inspire youth to be the next generation of environmental stewards, and connect people of all backgrounds to Jewish holidays, values, and traditions through farming and food.

Coastal Roots Farm is located in Encinitas, CA on approximately 18 acres of land which we recognize as indigenous to the Kumeyaay and Luiseño peoples. Coastal Roots Farm was incubated by the Leichtag Foundation in 2014 and received 501(c)(3) public charity status in 2015.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the Director of Grants and Impact, the Grants Coordinator helps to ensure the success of the Farm’s impact by supporting the grant development and program evaluation initiatives. The Grants Coordinator is directly involved with identifying potential grant funding sources, researching grant guidelines, helping to manage awarded grants, and monitoring project progress to achieve the goals of the grant-funded programs. The Grants Coordinator will also help the Director of Grants and Impact develop and submit grant proposals as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential functions include:
· Research various types of grants available and the criteria to qualify for each opportunity.
· Compile necessary information for the application process through collaboration with other employees, database research, and other fact-finding actions and meetings.
· Develop and maintain master files on grants and paperwork connected to programs funded by grants.

· Draft and complete grant applications according to application requirements.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Experience
Required:
· Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as nonprofit management, public administration, or business.
· Proven experience in grant coordination, grant writing, or a related field.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts.
· Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from various sources.
· Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
· Proficiency in grant management software and tools.
· Knowledge of grant writing techniques, including budget development and evaluation of outcomes.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
· Familiarity with grant regulations, compliance requirements, and reporting procedures.
Preferred:
· Knowledge of grant funding sources and grant application processes.
· Familiarity with nonprofit organizations and their operations.
· Understanding of program evaluation and outcome measurement.
· Familiarity with the Farm’s impact initiatives.
Reporting Relationship
Reports directly to the Director of Grants and Impact
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is $26-$32/ hour. This salary commensurate with experience. Coastal Roots Farm offers a competitive benefits package.
Typical Working Conditions
The Grants Coordinator will work inside an office as well as outdoors on occasion. There will be exposure to Southern California outside temperatures, chemicals used in the agricultural industry, and loud noises.

· Continuous walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs., cutting, and carrying.
· Able to walk a minimum of .5 miles on uneven narrow trails with elevation gain.
