Responsibilities
- Conduct daily walk-through of assigned areas to check the work of direct reports and the quality of the product.
- Identify any quality issues and resolving accordingly.
- Ensure food safety policies are being upheld. Checking all workflows as needed.
- Communicate quality issues to buyers, managers, day warehouse, and receivers, as well as informing of any shortage and damage of product or poor quality of the product.
- Supervise and assist with the rework of all distressed/damaged products.
- Report all lost product or transfers to inventory manager.
- Provide training and feedback to direct reports as it relates to quality processes and company procedures.
- Ensure that safety procedures are being followed daily.
- Coaching and evaluation of employees as needed for safe work and policy compliance.
- Review the team’s congestion management processes (CMP) regularly to ensure they are on track to meet their goals.
Education
- HS diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree in related discipline preferred.
- 1-year operations/warehouse experience in shipping and receiving perishable product; and /or a combination of educations and industry experience.
- Ability to solve problems independently and effectively articulate and communicate information.
- Able to supervise and motivate hourly employees.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using powered industrial equipment (forklift, electric pallet jack).

- Decide what to do with the product in regards to receiving, delivering to the customer, and/or spoilage.
