Your Role:
The Corporate Accountant is responsible for managing general ledger accounts, reconciling financial transactions, overseeing corporate allocations, and ensuring accurate fixed asset and cash reconciliations. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders, auditors, and senior leadership to enhance financial processes and maintain a robust control environment in line with GAAP and company policies.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare journal entries and perform reconciliations with a strong emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Record and reconcile daily cash transactions, ensuring timely monthly reconciliations by identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Oversee and execute corporate allocations across departments, business units, and locations to ensure precise financial reporting.
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate tracking of acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Track, record, and reconcile prepaid expenses, ensuring proper amortization and allocation to the correct accounting periods in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist in preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation for interim and year-end audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in accounting operations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of five years of professional accounting experience
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts in an accessible manner
