Your Role:
As Heavy Equipment Operator you will be responsible for operating material handlers to handle waste materials efficiently and safely. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
- Operate excavators and loaders to move, load, and transport waste materials at various sites
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs of equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow site plans and instructions to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment
- Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any issues encountered
- Assist in site clean-up and organization as needed
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and stay updated on industry best practices
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator, preferably in the waste management or construction industry
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and operating heavy equipment
- Shifts may vary, 40 hours per week (overtime available)
