Your Role: As a Lead Diesel Technician, you will apply your expertise to diagnose and resolve complex issues, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and maintain high standards. This position is ideal for experienced technicians seeking to take on a leadership role.
- Fleet appearance - Sustain professional fleet appearance
- Provide technical support for both in-house & external repairs.
- Asset controls support (OOS reporting – ensure fleet techs are using the tablets and providing accurate reasons for the OOS situation and if rentals are involved, asset removal execution – ensure fleet techs are using tablets to properly document all assets in “Pending Sale/disposal” within their location
- Provide Area/District level leadership to control regulatory guidelines (environmental audits, storm-water inspections / compliance, safety / OSHA audits). All fleet techs within AOR should be thoroughly trained and follow-up on execution should be spot checked during site visits.
- Provide Area/District level mentorship to fleet techs and new hires to ensure everyone has the right equipment to work safely and efficiently.
- Provide technical (diagnostics) and physical (turning wrenches) support to fleet techs requiring assistance with their fleet.
- Maintain assigned fleet assets.
- Execute all other assigned tasks from fleet leadership team.
What We’re Looking For:
- The ability to provide a safe work environment in the garage or shop.
- Computer skills – working knowledge of our (RTA), excel spreadsheets and email.
- The ability to train others in an effective manner (brings harmony and teamwork to the environment.
- Provides strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills (garage / shop cleanliness or organization, filing systems are organized; electronic files are organized and easily retrieved).
- Excellent diagnostic capabilities – MACK, Peterbilt, Volvo, Freightliner, Kenwood, JPRO, PTT, Alllison
- RET Certified - Preferred
- A valid driver’s license is required (CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL is preferred)
- Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks
