Responsibilities
Your Role:
The Sustainability Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sustainability strategies to enhance environmental performance within the waste and recycling sector. This role involves collaborating with various departments to promote sustainable practices and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Lead the development, execution, and tracking of the organization’s sustainability strategy and initiatives, including its net zero plan.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure the integration of sustainability practices into core business operations.
- Monitor and assess progress toward sustainability goals and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage the company’s ESG reporting efforts, ensuring accurate and timely submission of reports in compliance with various industry standards, including GRESB.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of sustainability data, ensuring its accuracy and alignment with best practices.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to environmental impact, energy use, carbon emissions, and other sustainability metrics.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to gather and analyze data related to ESG performance.
- Partner with fund managers and other stakeholders to align sustainability objectives with investment portfolios.
- Provide guidance and support on the integration of sustainability and ESG metrics into investment decision-making processes.
- Identify and support opportunities for sustainability-related grants, incentives, and funding programs.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of grant applications for sustainability projects and initiatives.
- Manage and track the progress of funded projects to ensure successful execution.
- Act as the key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding sustainability matters.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and communication materials to share sustainability progress with senior leadership, investors, and external partners.
- Stay current with emerging sustainability trends, regulations, and technologies.
- Proactively identify opportunities for the organization to improve its sustainability performance and reduce environmental impact.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Public Administration, or a related
- Five or more years of experience related to sustainability, resiliency, and/or environmental programs
