Job Summary
Area Managers lead a portfolio of stores and coach a team of Store Managers and Assistant Managers to deliver an optimal customer and employee experience, operational excellence, merchandising execution, maximum productivity, and profitable sales and earnings growth. Area Managers are accountable to drive consistent, high performance across all initiatives, develop, and execute strategies that deliver key results, and for ensuring consistency between your stores as measured by the P&L and other reports.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Drive profitable sales through effective leadership and KPI analysis; identify opportunities and develop action plans to deliver desired key results.
- Monitor store performance and consistently follow-up to ensure positive results and KPIs are met and/or exceeded.
- Oversee controllable expenses, payroll, and inventory management.
- Lead effective store visits focused on driving behaviors which enable the team to consistently deliver results in all areas of the business.
- Ensure processes are in place and being executed consistently across all stores to achieve operational excellence in the region.
- Build a high performing team and develop a strong talent pipeline. Attract, hire, and retain the best talent to meet short- and long-term company goals.
- Coach, motivate, and mentor your team to inspire top performance and an unparalleled customer experience.
- Develop your teams' capabilities by providing clear expectations, performance coaching, recognition and accountability. Address performance issues and create improvement plans as needed.
- Support and lead the store launch process for new retail sites as assigned, including project plans, supply and fixture procurement, manpower planning, and hiring and training to ensure a successful new store opening.
- Collaborate with business partners and various departments at the corporate office to make appropriate and necessary business decisions that positively impact the region and drive results.
- Foster and maintain a professional, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
- Ensure stores are operating in compliance with company policies and Standard Operating Procedures in addition to all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct routine audits and deliver corrective action plans as needed when opportunities are present.
- Ensure all visual directives and merchandising standards are executed and maintained.
- Maintain awareness of cannabis industry dynamics including market changes and competition.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

- Multi-unit, high volume, complex business leadership preferred.

- Ability to travel overnight and/or between stores as required. Travel percentage is dependent on business needs.
Work Environment
- This position will work in an indoor facility with controlled temperatures; may be exposed to bright lighting, loud equipment, airborne particles, and working in proximity with customers and staff.
- Must be able to travel to other office locations.
- Requires travel to different dispensaries and locations throughout the assigned area, particularly during peak times.
Job Requirements
- Work revolves around objectives, projects, and priorities, not hours; must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work schedule.
- Must be able to travel to other office locations.
- Ability to use a computer and calculator for 8 hours or more.
- Required to have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving history. Must have own transportation.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
- Selected candidates will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check with the local law enforcement or city Police Department.
