What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician position at Coastal?
Job Summary :
The QA technician role is to ensure the daily monitoring of company policies and procedures relating to : Food Safety, Food Security, Quality Assurance Programs, SSOP, GMP, and SOP’s.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Conducts Pre-Op when necessary.
Monitor Tsunami (PAA) levels ex. Chill tank, dicer, bin waters.
Monitor Metal Detectors and perform bag seals, container seal checks.
Check Product Quality and Julian dates on finished product.
Perform spot checks on but not limited to packed products in boxes, foreign object in containers, COO.
Develop site specific paperwork i.e. logs, checklists, etc.
Perform other HACCP related monitoring such as : Monitor Ambient Temperatures of Processing Rooms, Raw Meat Storage, Receiving, Dry Good Areas.
Prepare and Monitor Hand Dips and Foot Baths.
Education Required :
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Some Knowledge of food processing and quality programs.
Experience Required :
At least 2 years production experience
Technical Skills and Abilities :
Must be able to effectively perform in a multi-tasking environment with frequent interruptions.
Able to work in a group setting.
Able to work alone.
Strong organization and active listening skills.
Communication skills both written and verbal
Computer Literate
