Job Title: Bookkeeper
Job Overview:
At Coastline Property Management, we are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team, specializing in managing Homeowners Associations (HOAs). The ideal candidate will be comfortable learning to use modern property management software tools such as AppFolio and Buildium to maintain accurate financial records and reports. This role involves a blend of traditional bookkeeping responsibilities with the opportunity to engage directly with HOA boards at the occasional meeting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Must be able to understand and handle multiple association needs.
- Reconcile bank accounts for associations.
- Monitor financial transactions and reports for multiple associations.
- Process accounts receivable and payable in a timely manner.
- Utilize property management software to keep track of all financial transactions.
- Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Preferred experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office ecosystem.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Comfort with technology and willingness to adapt to new software and tools.
- Ability to occasionally attend and present at board meetings to discuss financial matters.
- Willing to download company apps on your mobile device for time keeping, communication, and HOA software.
- Ability to handle customers with patience and care.
- Ability to work as a team to accomplish tasks.
- Experience with App Folio is a plus.
