Lab Technician – Job Description

Location: Rosenberg TX 77471

Department: Laboratory

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm

Position Overview:

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing laboratory tests on foundry sands, refractory aggregates, abrasives and proppants samples. This position is under the supervision of the plant manager and will work together with the team to ensure that the plant runs effectively. This position will be responsible for the accuracy of all tests and samples, ensuring compliance with specific market standards. An understanding of laboratory procedures is desirable, as well as the ability to maintain equipment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Consistently adhere to all rules and regulations.

· Receive, register and prepare the samples received from the manufacturing plant.

· Perform laboratory tests on the samples, including sieve analysis, density, tensile strength, among others.

· Technically evaluate results obtained comparing with product standards and specifications, approving / rejecting lots for shipment.

· Define disposal of rejected lots together with the production team.

· Elaborate and maintain updated procedures of analysis according to specific standards.

· Record and maintain accurate laboratory and process data.

· Participate in training and safety meetings.

· Communicate with plant manager and other team members to ensure that the plant is running at optimal levels.

· Monitor and contact 3rd party companies for maintenance and calibration of the laboratory equipment.

· Ensure that all safety guidelines are strictly followed at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

• 12 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift
