Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of forklifts, including cherry pickers and order pickers, and will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement of materials within our distribution center. This position requires warehouse knowledge and adherence to OSHA safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Safely maneuver equipment in tight spaces while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on forklifts to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory and manage stock levels.
- Assist with order picking and packing as needed, ensuring accuracy in fulfilling customer orders.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized and efficient work environment.
- Follow all OSHA regulations and company policies regarding safety practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse or distribution center.
- Familiarity with cherry pickers, order pickers, and other heavy equipment operation.
- Strong warehouse knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
- Valid forklift certification is required; OSHA certification is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
