Job Summary
CMG (www.cmgmetals.com) is a leading manufacturer of high-quality coil and sheet metal products for the roofing and construction industries. As our Outside Sales Representative for the Mid-Atlantic region, you will be responsible for establishing and growing CMG’s customer base in this new market. This role is ideal for a highly personable and outgoing sales professional with a background in construction materials. You will focus on developing long-term relationships with standing seam metal roofing contractors, sheet metal fabricators, and other industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development – Identify and target new customers in the Pennsylvania market, introducing them to CMG’s products.
- Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with roofing contractors, sheet metal fabricators, and other key decision-makers.
- Sales Execution – Conduct in-person visits, product presentations, technical sales discussions, quote jobs, write proposals, close deals
- Market Growth – Develop a deep understanding of local market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to position CMG as the supplier of choice.
- Customer Support – Serve as the primary contact for customers, providing guidance on product selection, pricing, and order fulfillment.
- Strategic Planning – Work closely with CMG leadership to develop and execute a sales plan for the Pennsylvania territory.
- Travel – Frequent regional travel to meet with customers and attend industry events.
Qualifications & Skills
- Industry Experience – Minimum 2 years of sales experience in construction materials (metal roofing, sheet metal, building products, or related industries).
- Personality & Drive – Highly personable, outgoing, and motivated to build relationships and close deals.
- Technical & Math Skills – Strong math aptitude for material estimating, measurements, and pricing calculations.
- Detail-Oriented – Organized with excellent follow-up skills to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Self-Starter – Ability to work independently in a new market, while staying aligned with company goals.
- Valid Driver’s License – Willingness to travel regularly to meet customers and prospects.
