What are the responsibilities and job description for the Right of Way Agent (Field) position at Coates Field Service Inc?
Coates Field Service, Inc. is seeking an experienced Right of Way Agent for a Public Sector project-based position located in Oklahoma City, OK to support our client’s day to day operational needs.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of industry guidelines and interpersonal skills to provide acquisition and or relocation services on public construction projects, particularly with the DOT and local public agencies. In addition, the successful candidate will have advanced computer skills and be well-versed in digital workflows, online title searches, documentation related to right-of-way acquisition including easements and cloud file sharing applications.

Overview of Duties:
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Perform right-of-way acquisition and or relocation services related to state or federally funded infrastructure projects
- Prepare real estate documents
- Performs general administrative / clerical work as required, including but not limited to preparing legal documents, reports and correspondence, attending meetings, entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents for file management, verbal and written communications with customers, customer service and related functions
- Obtains tax assessor information and other county records
- Plots legal descriptions, including metes and bounds
- Review project planning sketches and/or GIS sketches for data accuracy and to interpret easement rights needed for the project
- Completes various components of easements, letters, etc. based on project needs
Specialized knowledge/education required:
- Minimum of 2 years of public right of way experience in acquisition and or relocation assistance on Uniform Act projects
- Must have project experience utilizing the Uniform Relocation Act (URA) guidelines
- IRWA certified or functional equivalency, Certification or Course History required
- Capable of completing legal documents and forms such as easements and agreements
- Knowledge of the sequence of processes required to complete acquisition
- Ability to plot metes and bounds descriptions of property and read a variety of maps, electronic and paper
- Ability to read and analyze engineering drawings and right of way plans in order to properly explain the taking
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Project or similar software programs in order to generate a variety of project reports in response to specific and varied queries
- Skilled in variety of research methods, particularly internet, courthouse, and recorded documents
