The purpose of the role within the global BTS team is to provide technical leadership to development and maintenance activities for Coates business platforms and applications. is a key role combining technical expertise with leadership and project management skills ensuring that project work within the software development team is on track. Further, within the global BTS team is to provide technical leadership to development and maintenance activities for Coates business platforms, primary ERP, CRM, integration and applications. They provide technical execution and strategic direction ensuring the successful delivery of project work.
The Director, Business Applications provides leadership and mentorship to the application delivery team, focusing on the development, design, and optimization of information technology systems that support business processes and technical platforms. Responsibilities include analysis, selection, and modification of enterprise systems, development, installation of network hardware/software, and database management. The role also provides oversight for the prudential management of incumbent business applications and is to produce an applications roadmap for elevated communications and user training.
\n- Development of the Business Applications roadmap in order to reduce cost, automate and elevate the user experience aligned to the 3-year company strategy
- Establishment of application development and management policies and procedures
- Proactively partner with the business to prioritise and deliver projects relating to internal business systems
- Execute, develop and continually review the internal software applications that support the business needs
- Act as a Technical SME on project management, execution and continual review to ensure embedment has been successful
- Manage and lead a team of business analysts, developers, QA analysts and architects
- Ensure system performance, security, scalability, and user satisfaction.
- Development and maintenance of development standards and tooling (coding, version control, deployment, test)
- Build a COE with technology and other relevant business units to ensure best practice is followed and established throughout the organisation
- Continuously assess business processes and identify opportunities for automation, improvement, or optimization using business applications.
- Develop and continually review the internal software applications that support the business needs to meet customer software solutions
- Develop and manage the budget for business applications, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost control
- Identify potential risks related to system functionality, data integrity, and security and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
- 7 years experience working within a similar environment
- 7 years experience leading Application development and integration teams.
- Tertiary education in computing science or engineering, equivalent industry certification or experience.
- Experience in leading and managing a high performing team of developers, architects and etc
- Proven experience in identifying, building and reviewing internal business applications for best use and optimization
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) preferably Azure
- Experience doing development in a Windows environment
- Experience with scripting languages (particularly Python and NodeJS) and SQL
- Thorough understand of Salesforce development
- Experience in applying continuous improvement techniques to applications
- Modern software practices established, understood and activated
- Identify and develop an applications roadmap aligned to the 3-year plan
- Measured by the % of applications built in order to automate projects over time
- Measured by the number of workflows developed to automate business processes
- Implementation of industry best practice into business systems development
- Quality of delivery as measured by the number of defect counts and risks identified throughout the development cycle
- High percentage (75% ) of engagement measured by the pulse and annual engagement survey
- Delivery of projects in scope, on budget and on time
- Accuracy in software estimations
- Establish benchmark and continually measure the number of deploys of automated testing to improve application quality
- Regarded by other staff as a key technical resource
- All delivered analysis and software components are documented in Confluence as agreed with BTS management
- Reuse of existing software components (for efficiency and to prove that practices yield re-use opportunities and were designed and built to a high standard)

Salary : $140,000 - $170,000
