What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Operator - Sauk 1st Shift position at Coating Place, Inc.?
*1st Shift: 7:00am – 3:00pm (Mon-Fri)
*Must be comfortable wearing respirator, as needed
Position Overview:
The Production Operator is responsible for operating and cleaning Production processing equipment, preparing coat solutions and other formulas in a cGMP environment, and following detailed written instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Typical processing duties include verifying tasks performed by other personnel, maintaining forms and records, accurately calculating yields and ratios, precisely measuring components, closely monitoring process conditions, identifying deviations to processes under their control, and labeling containers as to their contents, lot number, weight, etc. The Production Operator is also responsible for transferring product from bulk packaging containers into final product shipping containers and other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
- Operate equipment in assigned suite.
- Perform precise weighing and dispensing of materials. Mix coating solutions and other formulas.
- Clean equipment and manufacturing areas.
- Label containers with their contents, lot number, weight, etc. Verify label and lot information.
- Verify tasks performed by other personnel.
- Identifies deviations to processes under their control.
- Transfer solvents from large to small containers.
- Stage materials and/or equipment for processing.
- Maintain accurate campaign and order manufacturing records.
- Perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Follows all CPI cGMP and safety practices, policies, and procedures.
- Employees at CPI work with and/or are familiar with the GMP requirements for Food, Dietary Supplements, Pharmaceuticals, or other elements of each.
- Depending on the position, the employee will be aware of Halal and/or Kosher requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Skills/Knowledge Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Principles (cGMPs) in FDA-regulated environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of the purpose and contents of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs).
- Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and conversions.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to read, write (legibly), and speak English at a level necessary for efficient performance.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members and co-workers.
- Ability to operate common material handling equipment (pallet jack, drum dollies, etc.)
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to use a half-mask positive pressure respirator by providing a proper seal.
