Production Team Lead - Second Shift

Position Summary:

Perform duties required to meet production demand. Includes grinding, lapping, polishing, assembly, shipping, receiving, performing quality checks, and other duties. Additional responsibilities include department administration and leading team members.

Essential Duties Include:

• Perform production operations when needed and as directed.
• Ensure department is correctly set up and ready for production.
• Communicate daily schedule with team members and ensure employees are in the correct stations.
• Complete and verify appropriate paperwork, including routings.
• Verify finished products to ensure the quantity produced is the quantity required.
• Identify quality issues and assist in resolving those quality issues.
• Coordinate with Production Manager and Facilities for any unsolvable mechanical/maintenance issues.
• Verify and sign off on routings that all correct procedures are performed for projects. Ensure documentation of any changes or additional steps taken in process.
• Ensure all department employees meet established production times.
• Regularly appraise performance of department employees and provide documentation/feedback for the performance review process.
• Address personnel issues appropriately with direction from Production Manager when required.
• Ensure all closing checks are done at the end of each day (if required), including locking all doors and verifying equipment is properly shut down and lights are off.
• Follow all safety precautions and use protective equipment as required.
• Throughout shift, support team members in overcoming obstacles to attain productivity goals.
• Train team members on effective operation, to include monitoring of effective performance or assessing quality.
• Communicate necessary daily production information to next shift Lead.
• Maintain good communication with team members on all levels; communicate problems and applicable situations to Production Manager.
• Communicate openly and professionally between departments, management, and production employees.
• Maintain confidentiality with all company information and procedures.
• Follow good housekeeping practices.
• Be a role model for company policies, procedures, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain a supportive and positive personal attitude and working relationship with team members.
• Perform any other duties requested.

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED/HSED is required.
• One year experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Two years previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
