Cobalt is partnering with a leading global law firm seeking an International Tax Accountant to lead technical tax matters related to global tax and filing obligations, with a primary focus outside the U.S. The ideal candidate will have experience with APAC, UK, and U.S. filings, as well as partnership tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead BEPS Pillar Two compliance and documentation.
- Manage inter-firm invoicing to optimize cash flow across foreign offices.
- Assess taxing rights and resolve jurisdictional tax claims.
- Advise on permanent establishment (PE) rules and their implications.
- Research tax treaty applications for partnerships with international partners.
- Support foreign tax workpaper preparation and cash-to-accrual tax exposure analysis.
- Collaborate with the U.S. tax team to model tax withholding and foreign tax credit limitations.
- Calculate foreign tax return impact on partnership accounts and distributions.
- Issue intercompany invoices for recharges and income recognition.
- Maintain non-U.S. partner tax reserves for U.S. tax team review.
- Support U.S. foreign tax credit reporting for U.S. partners.
- Provide insights on tax-efficient structuring within the firm’s entity framework.
- Develop global partner income and distribution models.
- Manage relationships with external advisors, tax authorities, and local tax teams.
- Monitor global tax law changes and advise on business implications.
- Address VAT/GST, client withholding taxes, and jurisdiction-specific requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting required; Master’s in Taxation or CPA preferred.
- ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience in international law firms or Big 4 highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of U.S., U.K., and foreign tax regulations.
- Experience with transfer pricing and multi-currency environments.
- Ability to interpret financial statements and understand balance sheet accounting.
- Strong strategic thinking and executive-level communication skills.
- High attention to detail, discretion, and ability to handle confidential matters.
- Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a high-pressure environment.
Salary : $175,000 - $200,000
