We’re searching for a Senior Director of System Safety to work alongside the VP, leading innovative programs and driving continuous improvement across safety, security, and environmental systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic safety initiatives to improve system-wide safety, security, and environmental standards.
- Oversee key projects including ISO45001 certification and integration of new regulatory requirements.
- Act as Safety lead in internal and external meetings, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
Skills & Experience:
- Passenger rail experience is essential
- 7 years in leadership roles, with 10 years in operations
- Deep understanding of systems safety culture and relevant regulations (OSHA, etc.)
- PMP certification a plus
- Strong data orientation, with change management and negotiation skills
- Proficient in MS Office and key safety/project management tools
Location: Somerville, MA (Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days home)
Remuneration: $190,000–$215,000 base bonus, excellent benefits including railroad pension, 401(k) match, and comprehensive health coverage.
