Job Description
CoBank’s Credit Interns get real-life exposure to the daily duties of a credit analyst and working as a part of the lending team. The intern will conduct underwriting and financial reviews for CoBank’s customers. A typical credit report prepared by a Credit Intern will include an in-depth analysis of a customer’s operation, including; financial position, risk profile and industry make up. In addition, this intern will participate in various collaborative tasks to address customer needs. They will accomplish this by working together with experienced credit staff, relationship managers and other supporting staff. CoBank interns spend the summer as a valued member of their respective teams, learning business skills and assisting with a variety of projects that have an impact on the bank’s operations. An additional focus of the summer intern will be to complete a capstone project that will seek to add value to the team they are supporting. CoBank interns learn real-life business skills and assist with a variety of projects that have impact on the bank’s operations. This is a paid position for undergraduate and graduate students and will include a living stipend.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma and one or more years of relevant experience or undergraduate/graduate education.
- Currently enrolled in and working toward a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration & Management, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Ag Economics or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic understanding of balance sheets, income statements and cash flows.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to model in Excel.
- Aptitude for learning other software applications.
- Ability to perform research across multiple systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communications.
- Experience in banking or financial services industry.
Compensation Information:
- Undergraduate student - $21.00
- Masters student - $25.00
