Job Description
The head of Talent Management will be responsible for defining, driving and implementing CoBank's Talent Philosophy as well as a fit-for-purpose talent management framework including strategic direction and execution of talent management initiatives to drive CoBank's mission and strategic objectives.
Essential Functions
1. As expert-advisor in talent-related strategies, provide overall direction and execution in collaboration with key stakeholders in the design and implementation of core talent management processes to drive near- and long-term business performance. 2. Partner closely with MEC, including the CEO, HR business partners, HR leadership team members, and people leaders to define and articulate an intentional, enterprise-wide culture that drives mission fulfillment. 3. Work with CHRO to develop CoBank’s enterprise-wide talent management strategies, and partner with the HR leadership and business partner teams to execute on the strategies. 4. Build integrated talent management model and continually manage effectiveness of talent management framework: encompassing sub-functions across HR; embedding talent philosophy into culture; getting leadership buy-in; partner on technology and analytics for assessing effectiveness and driving future strategy. 5. Design an approach for executive leader & high potential leadership development, including a range of experiences, exposure opportunities and formal education. 6. Deliver compelling Associate Value proposition: Insights, Leading and managing GROW, Continual assessment of culture. 7. Formulate strategy on build-buy-borrow-develop capabilities, assessing demographics; partner with HRBPs and HRLT on execution. 8. Provide regular updates on CoBank’s talent programs to leadership in HR and business. 9. Serve as an internal coach to leaders when indicated by the talent plan, which may include 360 debriefs or other coaching. Assist HR and business leaders to create robust actionable development plans for high potential talent. 10. Create and support leadership and career development programs by assessing organizational and individual needs, determine development strategy and approach (in partnership with the Learning & Development leader), identify tools and develop programs to support high performance.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Master's Degree or equivalent in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business or a related field preferred
Work Experience
15 years of progressive experience in Talent Management or Human Resources required 10 years -12 years of progressive experience in designing and implementing talent management strategies required 8 years of management experience including working with and presenting to leadership at all levels of the organization required Executive Coaching certification or experience as HR Business Partner to senior executives required Knowledge and experience with most current thinking in the field of organization psychology, leadership development and organization development required Experience in the direct development and implementation of proven talent management methodologies that drive high performance. Executive presence and ability to provide updates at management executive level.Strong Project Management and delivery focused.Ability to manage, interact, influence, and communicate at all levels with excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.Outstanding analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills; ability to determine root causes and provide solutions.Demonstrates business and HR acumen, including problem-solving skills, tenacity, critical thinking, and analytical acuity.Proficient in partnering effectively with senior leaders through skillful navigation of ambiguous situations using strategic planning and effective project management.
About CoBank
The typical base pay range for this role is between $192,000 - $236,160. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
