What are the responsibilities and job description for the Education & Community Relations Intern position at Cobb EMC?
Overview
Cobb EMC has an exciting opportunity for an Education & Community Relations Intern who will represent Cobb EMC in the community by participating and coordinating community events, service projects and school system functions. The Education & Community Relations Intern will assist with other department activities such as Cobb EMC Scholarship campaigns and Partners at Large activities.
Schedule: Flexible on length of program, with no more than 32-hour work weeks.
Responsibilities
What you will be doing:
- Assist in planning coordinating and facilitating community events, service programs, projects, and meetings in the counties we serve.
- Help promote and participate in programs that meet local school curriculum and corporate public information needs. (Career Days, Literacy Week, Career Fairs, etc.)
- Help support and participate in the Solar Sprint Competition
- Help coordinate and participate in STEM Programming with schools in the counties we serve
- Prepare and send out mass mailings and information packets related to community program and projects
- Support and attend Cobb EMC Programs to benefit Foster Care Children and families, Senior Centers, Assisted Living Homes and Special Needs Children and their Families
- Support with community campaigns, related materials and review annual strategies for multiple Cobb EMC Scholarship programs to include Walter Harrison, Youth Tour, Youth Leadership Program, and Foundation Scholarships
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Completed Sophomore year of college, preferably pursuing Public Relations, Communications, Marketing bachelor’s degree
- Strong MS Office Suite skills
- Strong public speaking skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills
- Effective project management skills
