The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in guest rooms and public areas of the hotel. This role ensures that guests experience a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment during their stay. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, a commitment to upholding the hotel's cleanliness standards, and willingness to cross train in other departments of the hotel.
Room Cleaning:
· Clean and service guest rooms, including changing bed linens, making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, and replenishing amenities.
· Ensure that all guest rooms meet the hotel's cleanliness standards before they are made available for guests.
· Report any maintenance issues, missing items, or damage in guest rooms to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Maintenance Department.
Laundry:
· Collect, sort, and launder hotel linens and towels as needed.
· Fold and stock clean linens in the housekeeping storage areas.
· Monitor laundry supplies and report inventory needs to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Guest Interaction:
· Respond to guest requests for additional items or services (e.g., extra towels, toiletries) in a timely and friendly manner.
· Assist guests with questions and direct them to the appropriate department if needed.
Health & Safety:
· Follow all health and safety regulations, proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
· Ensure proper sanitation practices are followed in guest rooms and public areas.
· Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Inventory & Supplies:
· Restock housekeeping carts with necessary supplies at the beginning of each shift.
· Monitor and report low inventory levels to the Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure sufficient supplies are available.
Team Collaboration:
· Work collaboratively with other housekeeping staff and hotel team members to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations.
· Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
· Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or similar is an asset but not required.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
· Good physical condition, as the role requires standing, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods.
· Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
· Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
· Commitment to providing exceptional guest service.
· This position requires frequent standing, walking, and the ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
