Coburg Community Charter School is looking for an enthusiastic, student centered, school counselor to join and serve our school community. CCCS is a small charter school with 1 class of 25 students per grade level, grades K-8, so 225 students total. We are looking for someone who values and supports our ‘people first’ approach to developing and sustaining a comprehensive education program that does great things for kids. This role gets to be the “go-to” person for a wonderful group of kids, supportive families, and outstanding child centered staff.

The perfect candidate will be a natural school counselor seeking to serve a small school community in a role that is multi-faceted, an integral part of a collaborative leadership model, and affords the opportunity to work with students and families for 9 consecutive years (kids are here K-8) and develop those powerful and rejuvenating relationships. The best candidate will have a passion for this work and the experience and training to lead and deliver comprehensive services across multiple age ranges.

CCCS is looking for the person that just “fits” with our small community. Candidates that are licensed school counselors, or are currently working towards their school counseling license, are also welcome to apply. As a charter school we are able to get temporary licensing for a great candidate currently in a program. Our vision is to find that person who is going to join our CCCS family and serve the community long term.

This role works closely with our Assistant Principal as one half of the Student Services Team. Together they focus on supporting our students and families in all areas related to mental health and social/emotional learning. The balance of duties will depend on the specific strengths of the chosen candidate, their partnership with our AP, and will likely include support of our SEL instructional programs; providing mental health supports to individuals and student groups; coordinating support services with outside groups including Eugene 4J, Lane ESD, and/or other agencies; serving as a key point of contact in our suicide prevention program; coordinating and facilitating the 504 process; working with educator teams to gather and analyze student data; supporting career/college readiness efforts; and facilitating successful high school transitions for our exiting 8th graders.

If you are interested in serving a school community in which you are empowered, and expected, to reach your full potential as a school based counselor, we are interested in hearing from and getting to know you better. If you have any questions please contact our executive director, Dave Wallace, at director@coburgcharter.org. We also encourage potential applicants to explore their professional and personal connections to learn about our school community - we expect you will hear great things.

This is a full time 1.0 FTE position. Anticipated starting salary is $42,120 - $49,500 depending on experience and qualifications. The position is needed on campus from 7:45-3:45 with occasional, irregular, late afternoon meetings. Full time positions include fully paid health insurance premiums, life insurance and full PERS contributions for the employee only. We offer a robust mentoring program for new staff and a unique surplus sharing retention bonus for continuing employees.

To apply please send a resume, letter of interest, and three letters of recommendation or reference contacts to director@coburgcharter.org.

15 minute screening interviews will be conducted with qualified candidates as applications are received, with a final due date for applications on March 26. Second round committee interviews will likely be conducted the week of April 7th and may include writing prompts and/or mini-lesson presentations.
