What are the responsibilities and job description for the Powder Coat Lead position at Coburn's Exclusive?
Coburn's Exclusive is a growing custom architectural metal fabrication shop in the Nashville area. We make amazing doors, windows, storefronts, railings, and many other custom pieces!! We are looking for a Lead for our Finishing Department. The Finishing Lead coordinates the products moving through the Finishing process, including prep, powder coating, reassembly, and packaging. The Finishing Lead ensures that the Finishing team is on task, makes sure projects are completed according to process standards, customer timeframes, and quality guidelines, all while adhering to safety regulations. This is a working supervisory role, with the expectation that the Finishing Lead spends the majority of the time finishing, completing other tasks as needed.
The Finishing Lead has these specific duties:
- finish architectural metal structures using various products and equipment according to drawings and specifications.
- move structures through all stages of finishing, including pre-treatment, pre-baking, color determination, spraying, curing, etc with a high degree of proficiency.
- read and interpret blueprints and diagrams to determine proper finishes, and required timeframes.
- ability to use and maintain multiple finishing machines and tools.
- assist in ensuring production goals are met.
- communicate supply and material needs, and plans activities so that production is not interrupted or delayed.
- assess team for training needs, and schedule and train team members as needed.
These are the requirements for Finishing Lead:
- Powder coating experience (not assembly line powder coating, but by hand)
- Knowledge of pretreatments processes on various types of metal
- Painting experience
