Description

SUMMARY:

The HVAC Buyer is responsible for recording and tracking opportunities for increasing sales in the HVAC product segment. This position helps to increase sales and profit by supporting Branches in sales efforts by researching equipment specifications and supplying information upon request, efficiently and courteously assisting customers with selecting and purchasing products.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent AND 1 year of the following experience is required:
    • Customer Service Experience
    • Sales Experience
  • Basic understanding of HVAC Distribution
  • Strong Communication skills and advanced computer skills are required.
  • Must possess good organizational skills and math skills.
  • Must pass company required drug screen and physical.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. A consistent presence at work is required.

AGE & LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:

Travel: Must maintain a valid driver’s license and have the ability to travel to Coburn’s customers and company Branch locations. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Buying & Maintaining Inventory

Utilize all software to maintain satisfactory levels of inventory at the DC’s and Branches. Forecast demand and place purchase orders to satisfy that year-over-year demand and any forecast growth or recession. Work with vendors, Branch, and DC personnel to obtain and coordinate RGA’s for the return of product for recalls, rebalancing, and any other situation that may arise. Report regularly on inventory positions and deficiencies identified to Brand Managers and the HVAC Division Manager.

Increase Sales & Profit

Work with vendors and branches to identify and negotiate pricing, rebates, and look for better product/vendor selections as they arise. Identify higher profit opportunities with existing or alternative products and vendors.

Sales are maximized and market share is gained by supporting Branches in determining appropriate product selection to meet the customer’s needs and providing accurate and competitive quotes.

Sales Tracking & Follow up

Information on bids won or lost is recorded and tracked in order to assist with positioning Coburn’s for more market share.
