Duties
- Conduct assessments to determine clients' housing needs and eligibility for various programs, including Section 8 and HUD.
- Provide guidance and support in the application process for housing assistance.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients in making informed decisions regarding their housing options.
- Negotiate with landlords and property management companies to secure suitable housing for clients.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with social service agencies to provide comprehensive support, including addiction counseling and crisis management when necessary.
- Stay informed about local housing laws and regulations to ensure compliance and advocate for clients' rights.
- Facilitate workshops or informational sessions on housing resources available within the community.
Qualifications
- Experience in property management or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of HUD, Section 8, and other housing assistance programs is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in motivational interviewing and crisis management are essential for effective client interaction.
- Background in social work or a related discipline is an asset.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with landlords and service providers.
- Familiarity with relevant laws governing housing assistance and tenant rights.
- Proficiency in using software tools such as OneSite for managing client information.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a compassionate approach to client engagement.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $37,000.00 per year
