Monitor-Part-time (VA Location)

Cocaine Alcohol Awareness Program, Inc. Veterans location is looking to hire a Part-time Monitor for it's Lamar Avenue location.

Job Description

• Monitor premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors and windows.
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departures of employees, visitors, clients, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances. Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or the presence of unauthorized individuals, write reports of daily activities and irregularities.
• Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed.
• Schedule/provide transportation as needed for group, medical appointments, and other assignments given by Program Manager.

Required Knowledge

• Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding public safety and security procedures.
• Knowledge of security systems and equipment operations, emergency response techniques, and proper human relations techniques for carrying out job duties.
• Basic knowledge of required record keeping, scheduling, and language knowledge for written and oral communications in a client service environment.
• Other duties as assigned by Program Manager and Executive Director.

Required Skills:

Ability to remain vigilant and alert during work shift, skills in the area of reducing tensions during emergencies, ability to manage time and a variety of responsibilities.

Required Education and Experience:

At a minimum, must be a high school graduate or have GED. At least (3) year's comparable experience is preferred. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable with the agency's insurance carrier.

PRN: Saturday & Sunday, 7:00am - 7:00pm

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Weekends only
