Position Summary: Associate Faculty provides an invaluable service to the College and our students by providing experience of their profession in our classrooms, laboratories, and studios. Instruction is provided via multiple mediums, including face-to-face courses, blended learning, and online throughout Cochise County and our entire services area.Essential Functions: As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Duties and Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position: Teaches assigned courses to enrolled students and manages a diverse population of students in a classroom, laboratory, or in an online environmentDevelops, prepares and implements lesson plans; conducts pre- and post-assessment of students; evaluates, assesses and plans for students’ educational and social needsCollaborates with other faculty and staff in assessment of teaching strategies and the effectiveness of the instructional program to help promote a culture of continuous improvementMaintains student records, statistics, and/or other pertinent information as required by the college and the departmentResolves issues relevant to area of responsibility and scope of authority, referring more difficult or complex problems to the appropriate Department Chair, Dean, or other College officialPerforms other related duties as assignedGeneral Expectations: Employees are expected to accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective and competent manner and to strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, employees must understand the comprehensive role of the community college and cooperate and work harmoniously with students, faculty and staff, and the public. Employees will follow all college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Work Environment: Work is primarily performed under limited supervision. Incumbent generally performs tasks in a typical classroom, laboratory, office, or online setting. Evening or weekend work may be required.Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting majority of time; walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are metMental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are importantReports to: Dean of Nursing and Allied Health
