NATURE OF WORK: Under general supervision, performs professional accounting work of some difficulty; performs related work as assigned.

Prepares and issues invoices, monitors incoming payments, records transactions, and follows up on outstanding balances. Reconciles financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures. Identifies and resolves discrepancies in financial records and transactions. Maintains financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and government accounting standards. Supports audits by compiling financial data and providing documentation.
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education; one (1) year of experience as a accountant and one (1) year of experience utilizing computerized budget/financial tracking and reporting programs; must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License and the ability to be covered by county insurance.
An equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may be considered.Considerable Knowledge of:- accounts payable and accounts receivable procedures;

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is primarily performed under general supervision. Incumbent generally performs work in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.
