We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lawn Care & Landscape Foreman to oversee and manage our outdoor maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscaping, horticulture, and lawn care, with the ability to lead a team effectively. This position requires a hands-on approach, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of landscapers and groundskeepers in performing various tasks including mowing, edging, trimming, planting, fertilizing, watering, and general landscape maintenance.
- Develop and implement efficient work schedules, ensuring timely completion of all assigned tasks and projects.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to team members, promoting a culture of safety, productivity, and excellence.
- Coordinate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and expectations, and ensure that all work is completed to their satisfaction.
- Inspect and maintain landscaping equipment and tools, scheduling repairs and replacements as needed to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of supplies, materials, and equipment, and coordinate with suppliers/vendors for timely procurement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to landscaping, lawn care, and environmental conservation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of landscape design plans, including plant selection, layout, and installation.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess the condition of landscapes, identify potential issues, and recommend solutions for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, hours worked, materials used, and other relevant data for reporting and invoicing purposes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience (minimum of 3 years) in landscaping, lawn care, or related field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of horticulture, plant care, irrigation systems, and landscape maintenance techniques.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members, clients, and vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in operating landscaping equipment and tools, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety standards.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Certification in pesticide application and/or landscape management (preferred).
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or education in landscaping/horticulture is a plus.
